I joined the locals community today and was wondering if there are plans for more content, specifically live Q&A’s?
I’m a huge fan of MW and all it’s wonderful, thought-provoking content. It has been, and continues to be, a positively insightful source of distraction and comfort throughout a particularly challenging period of my life in the past couple of weeks.
With that, thank you for being the person who teases not only the wisdom, insight, and flair out of interesting individuals and shares it with the world, but who teases a complete stranger on the other side of the Atlantic out of recent, all-encompassing moments of hopelessness, reminding me that not all is lost. In fulfilling your purpose, you’ve inspired me to find mine.

P.S I’d like to share something that I’d personally love to see on MW, and I think many others might too. A special episode or live stream where you, and perhaps some previous guests, provide their professional insights on specific real-life problems that everyday listeners face. The agony aunt edition (🙈😂) if you will, where they offer tailored advice for complex issues.
The depth of knowledge on the show is fantastic, but having personalised guidance from respected professionals would be of great use to those seeking resolution to problems that may relate to a lot of the topics that have been covered on the show in the past. I appreciate the complexity of designing a show like this as a lot of previous guests already offer private sessions for this exact purpose e.g., one-on-one sessions with experts like Sadia, etc., but it’s so unattainable and unaffordable for most.
To have access to a combination of minds shedding insight on an issue that bares a huge weight in your life would be a genuine gift. With the way things have went down in my personal life recently, I’ve had burning questions and wished many times that I’d had access to the best brains to help me with an answer.

As it's been ca 18months since Chris actively interacted with this community, maybe time to pull the plug for good?
On the other hand: At a 0.2% conversion rate from YT subscribers to Locals paid subscription, you could finance the rental and outfitting of your very own cinematic studio.
Some sort of engagement drive at lowest possible time investement would be necessary.
Suggestion:
Listener submitted essay competitions.
1. Locals subscribers can post essays of the 5000sign length maximum.
2. To have their submission count, they must recommend/praise 3 of the other submissions in that weeks rating-thread. Thereby the reading/rating time for the team gets outsourced to the listeners.
3. The three winning essays get read out and recorded/attached a postcasts end. One essay per episode. Not within a given week but somewhere in the future so that the reading/recording can be done in batches.
Result: With ca 4h investment per month on Chris' part, you could generate 100-200k per year extra - e.g. to ...
This week’s 3MM mentions that Chris has been thinking about starting a WhatsApp and an Instagram Channel. It says he has to do some more research but these may launch soon. Would people be more inclined to use these channels instead of Locals as there doesn’t seem to have been a lot of engagement and interaction here of late? As a subscriber to this platform solely for MW, I’m wondering if it’s worth persisting with if there is a lack of new content? Thoughts greatly appreciated as I’ll at least save a bit of cash every month if I know this isn’t the place to be anymore!
